Doctor might not be helping athletes with comment Brad Biggs
James Andrews might be the foremost surgeon in the country when it comes to knee reconstructions for athletes but it’s hard to figure how the renowned doctor is doing Robert Griffin III and Marcus Lattimore any good right now.
Andrews described Griffin and Lattimore as “superhuman” in their recoveries from knee surgery, according to Stephania Bell of ESPN. He compared them to Adrian Peterson and Bo Jackson.
With Griffin and Lattimore still in the middle of their rehabilitations, it doesn’t help them to be compared to Peterson, who had a freakish recovery from a torn ACL this past season, or Jackson, one of the greatest athletes in modern sports.
That only ramps up expectations the public has for these athletes and maybe the expectations Griffin and Lattimore have for themselves. Andrews would probably servie his clients well if he would fall out of the spotlight a little bit and stay away from the microphones.
