With MJD still AWOL, team had no other choice. Terry McCormick
The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially named running back Rashad Jennings as their starter for the season opener, according to the Florida Times-Union.
“Again, Rashad Jennings is going in as the starter. I don’t know how that came out being any different,” Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey said of who will start Sept. 9 against Minnesota.
In all honesty, though, what choice did the Jaguars have? Maurice Jones-Drew is still holding out and is nowhere to be found with the season opener rapidly approaching.
Even if Jones-Drew showed up today, it is questionable how much of the system from a new coaching staff with the opener less than two weeks away.
