Jerome Simpson suspended three games

Jerome Simpson will be unavailable to the Vikings for the first three games of the 2014 season.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Simpson's November DUI arrest netted him a three-game ban to start the year. It's his first alcohol-related incident, though the second time he's violated the league's substance-abuse policy.

In a sense, the Vikings now have one less cut to make since he won't start the season counting toward the 53-man roster. And if some of Minnesota's younger receivers impress, Simpson could be looking for a new team when he's eligible to return.
