Jerry Jones has finally gotten around to having a chat with Dez Bryant.
The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver has been in the news for the wrong reasons again, accused last month of assaulting his mother and tearing her shirt and bra. Prosecutors have yet to decide what to do in the matter and Bryant’s mother has reversed course and asked that the law not go after her son.
Jones called his meeting with Bryant a great visit but didn’t go into too many details. Of course, previously Jones had said he was too “pissed” to meet with Bryant on the issue.
“One of the reasons I didn't (earlier), because I didn't want to talk to him emotionally. I was disappointed,” Jones said, according to the Associated Press. “As a daddy, sometimes you're not supposed to spank when you're mad. I wanted to get the information but also wanted to get my mind right so that we could really have a good talk about this."
Jones has also termed the matter “very serious” and said “I don't have a feeling one way or another, but we have talked” when asked if he felt better about it now.
Bryant could be disciplined by the club for conduct detrimental to the team but there is no telling if that will happen. He could also hear from the NFL on the matter.
