Jerry Jones continues to come up with events to fill the cash registers at Cowboys Stadium and the latest marquee event will be a kickoff weekend game in 2011 between LSU and Oregon.

The Cowboys announced that the teams will meet Sept. 3, 2011, in the “Cowboys Classic, a prime time game that will be televised on ESPN.

It will be the third time the stadium has hosted a game for ESPN on the opening weekend for college football. TCU and Oregon State just tangled this weekend.

This will be the fourth-ever meeting between SEC power LSU and Pac-10 power Oregon and the first since 1977.

Should be a good game. Both teams will be ranked, Ducks might be a top 10 team depending on this year.
