Jets’ Cromartie suffers concussion

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie suffered an apparent concussion Sunday when he collided with free safety Ed Reed in a 37-27 victory over the Oakland Raiders.

Cromartie was able to finish the game, but had headache symptoms after the game and is being examined under the mandatory NFL concussion protocol.

According to Kristian Dyer of Metro New York, Cromartie was feeling better Monday.

“I think he’s going to be in that concussion protocol and things. He felt better today, so that’s a positive thing,” Jetscoach Rex Ryan said of Cromartie, who recorded one tackle while struggling in pass coverage. “I think, as explained to me, it’s a real positive sign that he improved from that point in the game. ..

“Just after the game he came back and said, ‘I kind of got a headache,’ or something like that. And that’s obviously when they go into that prevention. And certainly he would have been forced out if anyone knew about it.”
