Rex Ryan was nowhere to be found as the New York Jets conducted first-round interviews with genearl manager candidates, according to NFL.com.
The Jets have said they want their new GM, whoever that turns to to be, to be able to work with their holdover head coach.
Likely, per the report, Ryan's presence was not required because Jets owner Woody Johnson and others in the loop would want the candidates to be able to speak freely about the Jets' personnel and system during the interview process.
There were reports that Seattle Seahawks vice president of football administration John Idzik for a second interview on Wednesday.
