New York Jets running back Mike Goodson was arrested early Friday morning on drug and gun charges, according to a report from News 12 via Newsday.
According to the report, Goodson and a companion, identified as Garrett Evans, were intoxicated in an SUV on Route 80 in New Jersey stopped in the left lane of traffic. Both men were taken to a local hospital, and Goodson was found to have marijuana in his possesion. A search of the SUV revealed a loaded .45-caliber handgun as well. The men were released from the hospital and taken into police custody.
The Jets did not immediately comment on the report. Goodson signed a three-year, $6.9 million deal with New York in the off-season. He has previously played for Oakland and Carolina.
