Jets defensive end Mo Wilkerson stopped just short of taking a page out of Joe Namath's playbook.

With a Thursday night game againt the Patriots approaching, Wilkerson gave a prediction that probably seems ludicrous to those not affiliated with the Jets.

“If our game plan is as good as it was, I don’t see why we won’t be 2-0,” Wilkerson told Newsday. “I’m confident in our coaching staff to have a great game plan and us being 2-0.”

Wilkerson didn't guarantee victory the way Namath did in Super Bowl III before the Jets' win over the Colts. But he seems pretty confident in his team after an 18-17 week one win over Tampa Bay.

To be fair to Wilkerson, he should believe his team will win this Thursday. The alternative wouldn't fly in the NFL.
