The New York Jets are awaiting the results of an MRI scheduled today on the foot of injured receiver Santonio Holmes.
Holmes had to be assisted off the field in Sunday's shutout loss to the San Francisco 49ers after suffering the injury without any contact. An x-ray of the foot on Sunday was negative, says the New York Daily News. But the Jets appear to be bracing for the worst.
“The offense runs through him,” Jets receiver Chaz Schilens said. “Guys including myself have to step up.”
