The New York Jets claimed former St. Louis Rams starting running back Daryl Richardson off waivers.

He was cut Thursday by the Rams.

The Rams drafted Auburn running back Tre Mason.

Richardson averaged 4.8 yards two seasons ago.

However, he fell to a 3.1 average per run last season. He also dealt with a toe injury.

He rushed for 475 yards as a rookie in 2012.
