Jets confirm Holmes out for season

The talk that New York Jets reciever Santonio Holmes could be lost for the season became more than talk on Wednesday, when the team confirmed that Holmes is indeed finished for 2012 with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, per multiple reports

Holmes suffered the injury in Sunday's shutout loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and signed receiver Jason Hill to fill the roster spot with Holmes being placed on injured reserve.

The Jets have already lost their best defensive player for the season when cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered an ACL injury against Pittsburgh two weeks ago.
