The New York Jets made it official, cutting nose guard Kris Jenkins, offensive tackle Damien Woody and outside linebacker Jason Taylor.

They are also expected to cut outside linebacker Vernon Gholston.

Woody is a starter who has had several injuries last season.

"Just informed about my release," Woody wrote on his Twitter account. "I want to thank the Jets and all the fans out there...it was a great ride!'"

Taylor is a former NFL Defensive Player of the Year who's up in years.

Jenkins has tore his anterior cruciate ligament twice over the past year.

Gholston is a former first-round bust from Ohio State.

He's regarded as a workout warrior who has been a huge disappointment in New York.
