Where in the world is Dimitri Patterson?
The team he plays for, the New York Jets, can't seem to locate him. After participating in a walkthrough on Thursday, Patterson failed to show for Friday's preseason game against the Giants, according to The New York Daily News.
The absence was unexcused, with the Jets unsure why Patterson decided not to come to the game.
“That’s what’s really baffling,” Jets general manager John Idzik said via the newspaper. “Dimitri has been very engaged. He’s been very attentive in meetings. We felt he was on the upswing in rehabbing his injuries. He’s been helpful as a veteran to our young guys. … There really wasn’t any warning. There was nothing to indicate this kind of behavior.”
This sure seems a bit bizarre, especially since Patterson is a potential opening week starter. The Jets have been dealing with cornerback issues all preseason, with Dee Milliner battling a high ankle sprain and Dexter McDougle going on IR with a torn ACL.
