Trade could come together shortly Brad Biggs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be closing in on a trade for Darrelle Revis.

The deal, which has been rumored to be in the works for months now, appears to be closer to happening as the New York Jets have granted Revis permission to visit the Bucs, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. That visit, of course, will include a physical for the cornerback that is returning from a torn ACL. How the Bucs gauge Revis’ physical situation could impact the deal.

Chances are good if Revis is visiting the Bucs that the teams have compensation already sorted out. Tampa will surely want to have a long-term contract in place for Revis before agreeing to a deal as Revis is entering the final year of his contract.

The Bucs are expected to have to fork over the 13th overall pick in the draft for Revis and an additional pick or picks to make the deal happen. With the start of the draft four days away, there is time for all sides to get on the same page.
