The old adage goes that when you have two quarterbacks, you don't have any quarterbacks.
So what does that say for the New York Jets, who have five quarterbacks, and reportedly have been making calls trying to move up and draft a sixth QB, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
According to the report, the Jets considered Geno Smith at No. 13, but instead chose defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson of Missouri. Smith then went into freefall out of the first round, along with every other available quarterback except for E.J. Manuel. An earlier report indicated the Jets would consider Smith with their pick at 39, but if this report is correct, the Jets could be figuring that there will be a run on quarterbacks at the top of round two this evening. Others who could go in the second round include Matt Barkley and Ryan Nassib.
