Gang Green has not reached the end zone in 15 preseason drives. Terry McCormick
Mark Sanchez joked that the New York Jets were "saving" their touchdowns for the regular season.
“We’re saving all our good stuff for the regular season,” Sanchez joked to the New York Post.
But the Jets continued woeful play on offense is hardly a laughing matter to some. New York has now gone 15 preseason drives without reaching the end zone in three preseason games. According to NBC, which broadcast the game, the Jets are the first team since the 1977 Falcons to accomplish such a dubious feat.
“There’s work to do, clearly,” coach Rex Ryan said. “I thought we made some improvements. We’ll see. I really think we’re going to get this thing turned by then. Obviously, we have to.”
Sanchez was 11 of 18 for 123 yards and had one interception that was not his fault. Tim Tebow struggled, going 4 of 14 for 55 yards with an interception.
