Move would clear $27.7 million in cap space. Terry McCormick
The New York Jets are planning to release linebackers Bart Scott and Calvin Pace and offensive lineman Jason Smith in the near future, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
By making those three moves, the Jets would save $27.7 million in cap space as they seek to retool the roster of a struggling team that sank to a 6-10 finish in 2012.
