Following a report that the New York Jets aren't spending money to extend the contracts of young players like cornerback Darrelle Revis because of poor PSL sales for their new stadium, another report refutes that notion.

According to ESPN New York, the Jets have a plan to secure Revis, center Nick Mangold, linebacker David Harris and offensive tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson to long-term deals.

Per the report, the Jets have "allocated enough money" to accomplish that goal, which could cost as much as $100 million in guaranteed money.

At this point, though, the Jets are fighting a losing public relations battle while Revis and Mangold are showing their unhappiness.

What about my man Braylon? "Hands of Stone" need a new deal! What else is left for him to prove? He's led the NFL in drops for three years! That's gotta be worth something.
Poor boy can't even afford to buy his friend Donte a drink! Talkin' about tradin' in the Bentley for a Prius! (He would think about it but "Hands of Stone" also has "head of air".)
The man needs a car; he can't even catch a cab. Could sell his meds for cash, cause he can't even catch a cold!

Show the man some love. Give him the deal he deserves!

I have read that the Jets have made an offer to Revis already. The article said that the offer was so low that Revis became not only mad but was insulted. Someone on the Jets has given Revis the impression that they will make him the highest paid corner in the NFL. He may be good but I judge a corner by what the NFL QB's think of them. X Corners, Receivers and Coaches all can hold a bias, but the NFL QB's let the people know who is the best.

If you look at the number of times an NFL QB has attempted to throw on Nnamdi last year and the year before. And you look at the number of times QB's threw Revis's way, it is like day and night. Revis is throwed at 3 times more per year then Nnamdi. So do you really think that the Jets will pay Revis the market cost that Al Davis has set with Nnamdi. Three years and some 45 million all guarenteed?, I do not think so. They would need to offer Revis some 16 million per year to get up with Nnamdi and with the Jets that will never happen. From the sounds of where the Jets first offer was it looks like they are miles apart.

Sound like with the Jets they have some two faced weak people working there. Many players with the Jets have said that they were promised deals but they never came or were low ball from what had been promised. Revis will either cave and swallow his pride and take much less then the best corner in the NFL {ie: Nnamdi) or this thing is going to become very ugly. My money is on ugly.

It won't get ugly they'll wait until he gets hurt and then trade him just like Leon Washington.

Don't believe everything you read Diane. When in contract "NEGOTIATIONS" do you put your best offer on the table first or come in low and negotiate towards the middle?
