The New York Jets have signed veteran offensive tackle Bruce Campbell, placing outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham on injured reserve.
Campbell visited the Washington Redskins and New York Giants this spring.
A former Oakland Raiders fourth-round draft pick, Campbell hasn't played since the 2012 season due to shoulder injuries.
Campbell played in college at Maryland.
He has played in 19 career games with no starts.
Campbell was acquired by the Panthers in 2012 in a trade from the Raiders in exchange for running back Mike Goodson. Campbell was waived-injured last year by Carolina and played in no games last season.
Campbell is an athletic 6-foot-6, 320-pounder who had a notable NFL scouting combine after playing for the Terrapins where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds and bench pressed 225 pounds 34 times.
