The New York Jets signed former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Phillip Adams.
The Jets also claimed wide receiver Walter Powell off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals and cut cornerback Ellis Lankster and re-signed linebacker A.J. Edds.
They cut rookie wide receiver Quincy Enunwa, a sixth-round draft pick.
Adams was a seventh-round selection in the 2010 NFL draft out of South Carolina State by San Francisco. He spent time with the 49ers that season, the Patriots and Seahawks in 2011, the Raiders in 2012 and 203, and the Seahawks again this offseason and preseason. He was a final cut by Seattle on Saturday.
He's played in 53 games and for his career has three interceptions, eight pass defenses, 51 defensive tackles and 11 special teams tackles.
Enunwa played in all four preseason games and had no receptions.
