New York Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff will be out of action until training camp after undergoing leg surgery, according to NFL.com.

Westhoff, a bone cancer survivor, had a break in the titanium prosthesis in his leg on May 12 while visiting his son in Indiana. He had surgery six days later and is recuperating at his home in New Jersey.

Westhoff had cancer in 1988 and has needed several operations on the leg since that time.
