Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks are making headlines on Day 3 of the draft.
After acquiring running back LenDale White from the Tennessee Titans during the fourth round of Saturday’s draft, Carroll was back at it during the fifth, as the Seahawks traded the Jets for running back Leon Washington.
The New York backfield is going to have a very young look come Week 1. The Jets’ depth chart at the running back position now features second-year back Shonn Green, as well as recent draft picks Joe McKnight (USC, fourth round, 112 overall) and John Connor (Kentucky, fifth round, 139 overall).
[Update (12:50pm): Somehow, I completely forgot about LaDainian Tomlinson. Insert jokes in the comments section.]
If you’re Julius Jones, it’s time to put your house on the market.
The details of the trade:
Fifth round pick from Seattle (139), which they used on Kentucky RB John Connor.
Seventh round pick (236)
