Colin Kaepernick has proved his worth in San Francisco.

After leading the 49ers to an appearance in Super Bowl XLVII and to the NFC Championship this past season, Kaepernick has asserted himself as one of the NFL's better quarterbacks.

With Kaepernick entering the final year of his rookie contract, the 49ers are hoping to extend his contract to ensure he remains a member of the San Francisco organization.

“Those things have a process that play out,” Harbaugh said at the NFL owners meetings, via CSN Bay Area. “The priority is Colin Kaepernick is a San Francisco 49er for however long we can have him be a San Francisco 49er. It’s definitely a high priority.”

In 16 games, Kaepernick threw for 3,197 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2013. He also ran for 524 yards and four touchdowns.
