UPDATE: The Bills officially announced Jim Leonhard has signed with the organization.
The Buffalo Bills are adding a veteran safety to its 53-man roster.
Safety Jim Leonhard is taking a physical on Monday and expected to join the Bills' organization shortly after, according to the team's official website. It will be Leonhard's second stint with Buffalo.
Leonhard went undrafted in 2005 but made the Bills' 53-man roster. He played with Buffalo from 2005-2007 before signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. He then had stints with the New York Jets (2008-2011_ and the Denver Broncos (2012).
“I think we’re always looking to upgrade this team, no matter what position it is,” Bills coach Doug Marrone said, via the Bills' website. “I think you’ll see that going through the season week to week. If there’s someone out there that we feel can better this football team, then we have to look at what those moves may be. I think that’s our responsibility as an organization to our fans and it’s our responsibility as coaches to our team.”
