Jim Schwartz all mum in regards to Matthew Stafford
In the interest of national security – or whatever better cause Detroit coach Jim Schwartz believes he’s aiding in remaining completely silent – the Lions are offering zero clue about the status of quarterback Matthew Stafford.
He sat out Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with an injured right shoulder, the result of a hit from Chicago defensive end Julius Peppers in the opener. Shaun Hill started in his place and the Lions lost their home opener 35-32 to the Philadelphia Eagles. If you’re keeping score it home, it was their 33rd loss in the last 35 games.
According to Tom “Killer” Kowalski of MLive.com, Schwartz offered no clues whatsoever on Stafford’s status in his press conference this afternoon. There has been speculation that it was separated, but no one is shedding any light on the matter and Schwartz simply says the No. 1 pick from last year will not play until he’s completely healthy.
Meanwhile, middle linebacker DeAndre Levy is feeling better after sitting out with a groin injury and should start this week provided he doesn’t suffer a setback, per Kowalski.
