The San Francisco 49ers will have to wait until training camp to see what they're getting in first-round pick Jimmie Ward.
The Niners' rookie safety has a fracture in his foot that is requiring rest for it to heal. It was diagnosed at the NFL combine, which surprised Ward himself. According to CSNBayArea.com, Ward didn't even feel pain from the fracture, but was notified of it after an x-ray during his physical.
Ward was present for San Francisco's rookie minicamp but was unable to participate ind rills.
