Jimmy Kennedy is pissed off and he's talking about it

Just imagine what his tenure would have been like with the St. Louis Rams had Jimmy Kennedy shown this much fire when he was there as a first-round draft pick?

Kennedy, the well-traveled veteran defensive tackle, blew up on Thursday. He told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he is “pissed” when it comes to his playing time.

Kennedy has played in the last two games after returning from offseason knee surgery and he can’t, for the life of him, figure out why he is not on the field more.

“I'm pissed off with playing 15 plays last game," Kennedy told the newspaper. "I'm pissed off being under 30 snaps for the season. I'm never a cancer. That won't happen. But look, as a competitor, I damn sure don't like standing on the sidelines playing cheerleader — 'Hey, let's go, rah rah.' (Forget) that. Not me. But if that's what it takes this year in order for us to get a championship year, then so be it."

Kennedy picked up a half-sack on Monday night when he shared one of the Jets’ Mark Sanchez with Ray Edwards. It’s one thing to want on the field, but with the Vikings reeling right now at 1-3, it’s probably not a good idea to be spouting off about playing time. It’s the kind of thing that could wind up, you know, pissing the coaches off. That probably wouldn’t do Kennedy much good, now would it?
