The Arizona Cardinals, who have been trying to slow the traffic headed out the exit door, has gotten someone to come in the building.
The team announced on its Web site this afternoon that linebacker Joey Porter has agreed to a three-year contract, a good addition for a team in need. The Cardinals lost key components of the defense already in linebacker Karlos Dansby and safety Antrel Rolle and was looking for a boost to the pass rush.
Porter, who visited the Washington Redskins after a trip to Arizona, possibly for leverage, reunites with coach Ken Whisenhunt as they spent time together in Pittsburgh.
