Cardinals outside linebacker had been arrested for three misdemeanors Aaron Wilson
Arrested on charges of DUI, resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer over the weekend in Bakersfield, Calif., Arizona Cardinals outside linebacker Joey Porter won't be charged with any crimes.
The district attorney annoucned today that it won't be going forward with charges against Porter, who has accused the arresting officer of police brutality, saying he was struck in the face.
It's unclear if that's the impetetus for the district attorney's decision, but it makes sense.
Porter allegedly slapped an officer's hand and exited his vehicle in a "confrontational manner."
The California Highway Patrol recommended charges, but the district attorney didn't agree with that recommendation.
