Falcons defensive end wouldn't leave bizarre scene Brad Biggs
This is a bizarre story from Monday night, although not nearly as wacky as the officiating in the “Monday Night Football” affair.
Far away from Seattle, Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham was arrested by Atlanta police and charged with obstruction of police and fire officials after he refused to exit a scene in which a woman was threatening to jump off a building.
Abraham was arrested and booked in the Fulton County Jail on misdemeanor charges, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Fortunately, the woman did not jump and she was taken, uninjured, to a local hospital.
Apparently officers had taped off an area and Abraham entered the restricted area and refused to leave after being told repeatedly to exit the scene. What isn’t answered here is whether Abraham perhaps knew the woman who was threatening to harm herself by jumping from the building. Either way, when the cops tell you to beat it, you’re looking at trouble if you don’t get moving.
Falcons running back Michael Turner was arrested last week on DUI charges.
