John Abraham says 'bad timing' led to his arrest

John Abraham was arrested on Monday on two charges of obstruction and the Atlanta Falcons defensive end chalked it up to “bad timing.”

That’s one way to put it when police tell you to leave a scene and you don’t.

But D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Abraham wouldn’t share a lot of details about the incident that drew police attention when a woman was threatening to jump off a building. Abraham owns three condos in the high rise where the incident took place. It’s not known at this point if Abraham knows the woman who threatened to jump. She did not jump and was transported to a hospital.

“I’m just happy that everybody that knows me and knows what kind of person I am, know the things that I do, so I’d like to kind of leave it at that,” Abraham said, according to Ledbetter. “I’m just trying to move on to football, continue to be the leader that I’ve been, do the same things and get ready for Carolina.

“Sometimes, it’s just bad timing. I’m not going to fault anybody at all. Sometimes things happen in life. Sometimes trying to do the right thing, (doesn’t) end up being the right thing.”

The charges against Abraham are misdemeanors and he posted $7,500 bond.
