The Raiders recently traded for quarterback Matt Schaub to bolster a spot that lacked experience in 2013.

But now they apparently are looking for who can lead that position of the future. Holders of the fifth overall pick, the Raiders are welcoming a two-day visit from Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Manziel only played his redshirt freshman and sophomore years at Texas A&M but quickly became an Aggie legend. As a redshirt freshman, Manziel won the Heisman Trophy after throwing for 3,706 yards and 26 touchdowns. He added 1,410 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.

He was a Heisman finalist as a redshirt sophomore in 2013, throwing for 4,114 yards and 37 touchdowns, while running for 759 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Raiders declared Schaub the starter shortly after signing him, so it would seem strange for them to pick Manziel with the fifth overall pick. But that's what due diligence is for. Maybe after meeting with him, the Raiders change their approach.

It wouldn't be the first time, given that Matt Flynn was considered to be the starter before Terrelle Pryor beat him out in last year's training camp.
