What was seen as obvious became official on Wednesday.
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner as a redshirt freshman, has filed his paperwork to enter the 2014 NFL draft, according to NFL.com.
Manziel figures to be one of the top quarterbacks selected in the upcoming draft.
In two seasons as the Aggies' quarterback, Manziel threw for 7,820 yards and 63 touchdowns. He also rushed for 2,169 yards and 30 touchdowns in that span.
In 2012, Manziel was more of a rushing threat, picking up 1,410 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground. But in 2013, he did more damage as a passer, throwing for 4,110 yards and 37 touchdowns.
