Saints linebacker takes unique approach Brad Biggs
Suspended New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma has filed lawsuit over his situation.
And this is a doozy.
Vilma has sued NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for defamation, according to the Associated Press.
The lawsuit was filed today in U.S. District Court in New Orleans and alleges Goodell made false statements about Vilma as it pertains to the bounty scandal and the New Orleans Saints. Goodell has suspended Vilma for the entire 2012 season, a suspension he appealed.
“As I've said before..I NEVER PAID, NOR INTENDED TO PAY ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY,TO ANY PLAYER FOR INTENTIONALLY HURTING AN OPPONENT,” Vilma wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Using all caps is one way to get attention. Suing Goodell is another.
The NFL has accused Vilma of personally offering up a $10,000 bounty for knocking a quarterback out of a playoff game. Vilma has denied that and now he’s found away to avoid the judge, jury and trial that is the NFL. He’s taken Goodell to court.
