Maurice Jones-Drew has escaped prosecution from the law in the bar fight he had with a security guard last month.

However, the plaintiff's attorney tells the Florida Times-Union that Jones-Drew will still be facing litigation of a civil kind in regards to the Jacksonville Jaguars running back allegedly knocking the man out with a punch.

“If the state of Florida won’t attempt to seek justice, we will,” said Patrick Canan, who represents Kasim Howard in the matter.

While prosecutors may not be pursuing the matter because they might not feel they can win a conviction, the burden of proof in civil court is less. So the matter is still not over for MJD.
