The Jacksonville Jaguars' decision to put Maurice Jones-Drew on injured reserve took place because the running back needs surgery on his injured foot, says the Associated Press.

MJD will have the surgery done and won't be back until late May or early June, according to Coach Mike Mularkey. Jones-Drew, who has been out since suffering the injury Oct. 21, complained of soreness while running on Monday, leading to the decision to put him on IR.
