Jordan Gross takes pay cut to remain with Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have picked up some salary cap relief from a pillar on their offensive line.
Jordan Gross has taken a salary reduction that has created a cap savings and his contract will void after this season, according to the Associated Press.
“The Panthers and I came to an agreement that everyone was happy with and allowed me to continue my career in Carolina,” Gross told the Associated Press. “I wanted to be a Panther and this contract echoes that sentiment.”
The veteran left tackle, who is preparing for his 11th season with the club, had his base salary trimmed from $8.7 million for 2013 to $1 million. But he received a $4.5 million signing bonus so he is losing $3.2 million total for the season.
