Defers questions to Andy Reid Brad Biggs
Juan Castillo is at the Senior Bowl working for the Philadelphia Eagles.
But he would not say if he remains the defensive coordinator for the team.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Castillo deferred questions on the topic to head coach Andy Reid, who was not present in Mobile, Ala. It’s only fueled ongoing speculation the Eagles will replace Castillo after one season of running the defense following an extended run as the team’s offensive line coach.
"You got to go through Andy," Castillo said, per the report. "I'm just working.”
It was thought that the Eagles would make a run at former linebackers coach Steve Spagnuolo, but the ex-St. Louis Rams coach landed with the New Orleans Saints as defensive coordinator. Now, there isn’t a clear candidate to replace Castillo.
"Anytime we can get up in the morning and we're healthy enough to fight, we're all all right," Castillo said.
