New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was activated from the physically unable to perform list, practicing for the first time since the start of training camp.
Edelman is coming off a foot injury.
"It's always exciting to get back out there with the teammates and start a new year and get on the field," Edelman told reporters. "It was exciting. Right now I'm ultimately focused on just trying to get out here and catch up with the train The train's been moving."
Meanwhile, the Patriots signed wide receiversJohnathan Haggerty and Lavasier Tuinei and defensive linemen Travis Chappelear and Scott Vallone.
The Patriots recently cut wide receivers Lavelle Hawkins and Perez Ashford, offensive lineman Nick McDonald and cornerback Stephen Morris. McDonald failed his physical.
