WR says his foot is 100 percent after March surgery Brad Biggs
Julio Jones is ready to get to work with his new teammates.
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver has already huddled with quarterbacks Matt Ryan and John Parker Wilson, who Jones played with at Alabama, and he’s going to join player-directed 7-on-7 practices next week.
“It’s kind of the same offense there that we had at Alabama,” Jones told Ken Sugiura. “Some of the plays are the same, but it’s just different terminology.”
Whether or not Jones participates in the workouts remains to be seen. Although he says he’s 100 percent following foot surgery in March, he has not been medically cleared yet.
He’s spent a lot of time in Atlanta already since the draft and he’s getting acclimated. Jones needs to have a strong rookie season to validate the bounty of draft picks the Falcons shipped to the Cleveland Browns to move up and select him.
