Panthers rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin returned to practice on Saturday and did not disappoint those in attendance, according to a report from the Associated Press.
Benjamin returned to training camp after sustaining a bone bruise to his left knee over five practices ago and reportedly did not have any noticeable effects from it. The AP report states that he was a frequent target of quarterback Cam Newton during team drills.
This is a positive sign for the Panthers, which is relatively young and thin at the receiver position. They will definitely be counting on Benjamin to produce immediatley, which can be tough since it generally takes a season or two before receivers begin producing at higher levels in the NFL.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rule at every position. Benjamin will be looking to prove he's one of those.
