Ray Edwards, who continues to spew the anti-Minnesota Vikings venom we’ve heard from him for a few weeks, is preparing for his professional boxing debut tonight in Hinckley, Minn.
We’ll assume one of the reasons Edwards needs to fight in Minnesota is he might not be very well known elsewhere after his association with the Vikings. He gets a cut of the draw, after all.
And before Edwards fights tonight they’re already talking about his next bout. According to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, there is talk of pairing the defensive end against Kimbo Slice, the YouTube sensation and former UFC fighter. Promoter Jared Shaw told MMA Weekly Radio he wants to make the fight happen.
Edwards is scheduled to have a second fight next month at Grand Casino Hinckley also. His opponent for that fight has not been announced.
