Washington Redskins backup quarterback Kirk Cousins left the game Monday night with a sprained right foot.
Redskins starter Robert Griffin III remains sidelined from offseason knee surgery.
X-rays were ruled negative and Cousins sprained the middle of his foot, according to Redskins coach Mike Shanahan.
After the game, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cousins was in a walking boot and on crutches.
“When I first did it, it didn't feel like it was anything serious,” Cousins said. “It feels almost like a sprained ankle, just in the middle of my foot.”
With Cousins sidelined, Rex Grossman went in the game and completed 10 of 16 passes for 133 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
