Knee scope sends James Casey to sideline

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without tight end James Casey until the start of training camp after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier this week.

Casey has work done on his right knee and that will prevent him from participating in the remainder of the club’s OTA and the mandatory veteran minicamp, according to Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Casey was signed to a $14.6 million, three-year contract in free agency because he’s a versatile weapon that can be lined up wide, at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield.

“I had a minor scope done on my right knee,” Casey wrote on his Twitter account. “I'll be back to full speed in two weeks. Better to get it taken care of now.”
