Broncos tapping brakes on trade to Miami? Brad Biggs
Dove Valley sure is a long ways away from South Beach.
It’s also a long ways from the Miami Dolphins training camp site.
But it’s where Kyle Orton will likely be taking reps at quarterback today, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. The Broncos are tapping the brakes on an Orton-to-Miami trade apparently. Klis reports Orton was in team meetings on Wednesday and “the expectation is Orton will take reps with the starting offense.”
New Denver coach John Fox said all offseason Orton was atop the depth chart, ahead of Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn. While the Broncos continue to negotiate a trade, they almost have to keep Orton on the field as their starter. Otherwise, they lose leverage in the deal.
