Tharold Simon’s wait to be drafted this weekend ought to give him plenty of time to think about what happened Thursday night.

The LSU cornerback, projected to be a mid- to late-round selection, was arrested on Thursday in Eunice, La., according to KATC-TV. Simon was accused of intimidating a police officer. He has been charged with public intimidation, resisting an officer, and unnecessary noise violation. Simon was released on bond.

Per KATC, the police report indicates Simon had plenty to say to the police officer when asked to move his car, that was allegedly blocking a street.

“I own Eunice,” Simon told the officer, according to police. “I'm gonna buy these projects and you are gonna be mine.”

The officer noted that Simon spun his tires when moving the vehicle, blasted his car stereo and informed the officer that “the mayor was on (his) side” and he would see to the officer being fired if he was issued a ticket.

Today is “Tharold Simin Day” in Eunice, so he has that going for him.
