Newly-minted New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson's two-year contract is worth a bit more than the two-year, $5 million contract Thomas Jones got from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tomlinson's $5.2 million deal includes escalator clauses, according to the New York Daily News.

If triggered, Tomlinson can make as much as $5.7 million.

Tomlinson chose the Jets over a competing offer from Minnesota Vikings today.

The NY media won't give the whiny, petulant LT a free pass like he's used to. I think the media will be all over his "aw shucks" BS.

Baffled how they could have signed a top 5 RB in the league for the same deal? It just doesn't make sense. I thought the whole reason the Jets let TJ go was because they had 2 "great" alternatives. So your bringing LT in to be your number 3? Probably wouldn't knock it to much had they not let TJ go but hindsight is 20/20 and the jets look like fools now.
