Larry Fitzgerald says he was never approached about potential Patriots trade

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald says he never heard from the team about a potential trade to the New England Patriots.

Fitzgerald was rumored to be available via a trade last year, but Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said it wasn't true and Bill Belichick never reached out.

Did Fitzgerald hear anything?

"Nothing at all," Fitzgerald told USA Today. "I mean, I heard stuff that was being said. But there was never a time where the team approached me. Nothing like that."

Fitzgerald, an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, restructured his deal in February. He has a $23.6 million salary-cap figure in 2015. Could this be his final eyar in a Cardinals uniform?

"Whatever happens after the season, happens after the season," Fitzgerald said. "But most of that stuff is out of my control anyway."
