Legendary Steelers coach Chuck Noll died

Legendary retired Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll, the architect of four Super Bowl victories, passed away Friday night at age 82 of natural causes.

As the  lone coach to win four Super Bowls, Noll went 209-156-1 as he coached the Steelers from 1969 to 1991.

Noll was a former Don Shula and Sid Gillman assistant who led the Steelers to a tradition of winning and hard-nosed football..

Noll was a legend in Pittsburgn and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.

"Chuck Noll is the best thing to happen to the Rooneys since they got on the boat in Ireland," Steelers owner Art Rooney Jr. once said.

Noll had battled health issues for years.

"He will go down as the guy who helped create the mystique that exists now with the Steelers," former Steelers coach Bill Cowher said.
